I Love Lucy’s, Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnaz called their rural Chatsworth home Desilu Ranch. It was situated on five acres at the corner of Corbin Avenue and Devonshire Street. It was their first home, purchased in 1941. Both of their children were born while they resided in their Chatsworth home. They enjoyed the rural life with their orange grove, dogs, and pet chickens that Lucy adored. Desi had built a fireplace for the patio and bath house on the property. The two loved to throw parties for friends and entertain by their swimming pool. Lucy had celebrated her 30th birthday in that home. Sadly, their rural dream life had come to an end in 1954, with a move to Beverly Hills amid security concerns and the long commute to their Desilu Ranch. Both Lucy and Desi reported moving from their Desilu ranch as being the saddest time in their lives. Desilu Ranch represented the best of times in their marriage and family life.
